oh yeah we have a blog.

hokay so my exams are as follows: kin -17th french - 19th french lit & linguistics - 22 myths - 24. and then we move on the 30 and i start my intersession classes on the 5th. so im taking 2 kin quarter credits in intersession and in kin we have to do all these activity classes and stuff. the 2 classes im signed up for are called games of low organization and badminton so i pretty much assume they are activity classes but im pretty sure theyre listed as in a regular classroom. so that should be interesting. on a somewhat side note, my bday is the day inbetween when the first course ends and the second begins (aka no class) so i vote lets visit me and party in londontown. that is all.

Here is my gross schedule with a loverly 8 day break between geo and chem. ick. so basically I don’t know what I’m going to do for 8 days because I don’t think its humanly possible to study for that long especially when other people are going home in between… (I would literally go crazy).. but hopefully it means I can  drag my chemistry mark up from the crap it is now to something half decent.

Luar

image

Heya! So I haven’t written in ages, so I guess I could tell you all about our formal (luar which apparently means moonlight in Portuguese). So in the above picture is moi, jaci, lauren, emily and alison, and in the front row is mandy and laura.  Such a good night =D We went to formal at 6ish and had dinner, and then danced forever and then it sadly started to empty out fairly early so we only ended up staying until 11 but then me and Alison went downtown so it ended up good. Downtown we went to the palace, basically one of the sketchier places but the palace and trappers are first year places to go and last time we went to the palace it was also awesome... But anyways long story short Saturday night ended up being great… I will update again soon… but right now I sorta have to study for physics that I didn’t study last night because I went to sleep at 10:30pm so I could catch up on sleep for the weekend =D

Ladies! This has certainly died down in the past month eh? Well, I'm going to revive it somehow, probably by making us all do some meme or something on here. Thoughts? So I'm in the Leddy Library on campus right now, on the second floor of Main, trying to type really quietly because I'm in a cubby... I studied for like a good, solid, hour and a half this morning (lol) for calculus and then decided that I deserved a break. I have a quiz and then a midterm tomorrow and then we're going on a field trip to a wastewater treatment plant! Whoo! HOO! I'm actually criminally relaxed about the two tests even though I have yet to start studying for the quiz and only have three out of four sections reasonably down for the test. Lately, as an alternative for studying, I've been e-shopping a lot. I want:
  • a trenchcoat, preferably navy blue and mid-thigh;
  • penny loafers;
  • a big slouchy soft brown leather bag for the summer/work;
Too specific? Whatever, tell me if you see anything.

I am so glad that school is almost done. Un-fricken-believable. Then I guess (ha, I know), I will be going to Ottawa for the summer cause I got the job at the P to the arliament. Lawls. Anyweasle, thats my life. Got it going on. P.S. Hukes, sweet tat. Thats all I gotta say.

AWH YEAH BITCHES

REFERENDUM APPROVED, THANKS TWO THOSE TWO LOVELY PEOPLE PICTURED ABOVE!! They were 68 hours late on posting results. SIXTY-EIGHT. Fuck. We were in Ottawa for OUAs (which went well, not awesome, not terrible) and our emotions were constantly being played with. They kept delaying and delaying and delaying. FINALLY, on our bus ride home, 9:00PM, we got the good news. It's a sigh of relief. It's a wonderful thing. And now I can say I saved a university building in my résumé.

updates on our campaign (it's a long one!!)

  1. ok there were all kinds of articles in the cord today about the pool. first of all, i'll tell you that on monday the city of waterloo agreed to put forward $50,000 per year CONTINGENT ON THE REFERENDUM PASSING. second of all, the cord is the worst paper ever and really needs some new writers and editors.
  2. so. that being said, the cord website sucks a whole lot too, so i can't find links to every article. here is the website: http://www.cordweekly.com/cordweekly/home on the left there is a picture of a paper. click on it, it gives you the PDF version (if you're interested). here are the page numbers of the articles you should check out (again, if you're interested and have a lot of time on your hands):
  • - page 1 there is a little article on the pool which expands on page12. the first page makes it sounds like we're getting the money from the city, no questions asked. they expand on page 12 and explain that it IS contingent, but it's so convoluted you can't even tell what they are saying.
  • - page 13 there is a nice article about whitney (teammate)
  • - page 7 there's some cord crap about referendums they would approve, the pool not being one of them. so the editors voted and agreed which of the questions they personally would vote for, and then wrote about it. they said it was NOT pertinent to all students (i will expand on how hilarious this is in a second)
  • - page 24 talks about aesthetics mattering to students (i will expand on how hilarious this is in a second)
  • - page 26 is an awesome opinion piece written by keith beavers
  1. this ENTIRE edition of the cord is completely contradictory, it's actually kind of funny. the referendums that the cord editors approved of were based on unanimous decisions (apparently). so here is what they said regarding the pool referendum: "per semester charge does not address a priority pertinent to most students." which is all fine and good, but what they fail to mention is that if and when it closes, the pool will be boarded up and left to rot on our campus. the clincher is that ONE OF THE EDITORS, WHO CLEARLY VOTED AGAINST THE POOL REFERENDUM (because it wasn't"pertinent to all students", wrote an article titled: "AESTHETICS MATTER TO STUDENTS."
  2. i love it. we have some really stupid people here. after i insulted them last time about not providing or knowing all the facts, they STILL manage to mess this up. i understand you can have your opinion, obviously that is a given. but that is just absurd. it's closing and will be boarded up and rotting, but its not pertinent to all students, but aesthetics matter. i'm actually laughing.
  3. in other news, the lacrosse team has decided to spread rumours that if the pool stays open, funding will be cut to other teams. we put an end to that fairly quickly. i just said i had been to every board meeting and that had NEVER EVER ONCE been mentioned. i also said if they would like to know for sure, i would meet with peter baxter. which is exactly what i did; signed and sworn statement from our director of athletics that if the pool stays open, this will not divert funds from other teams.
  4. i almost exploded with the cord and the lacrosse team news. i'm just letting off steam while furiously typing this to you guys, and then i can settle in and study.
  5. anyway, all that being said, it still seems to be going well. 90% of people we approach / that approach us seem to be very keen to help out. people are very sympathetic. definite ups and downs, but the ups help remind me that there still are some good people here. the downs are obviously sharper blows, but we're getting there. it's the uncertainty more than anything that is bothering me. i just hope we didn't do all of this for nothing.
  6. THE VOTE IS TOMORROW! FINALLY!!! WE ALSO LEAVE FOR OUAs TOMORROW AT 9:30AM. I WILL BE IN OTTAWA UNTIL SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! BYE!
