Ch-ch-ch-ch-check it out

Guess what, guys?! We're still on strike! I had to go down to the university today and I got to see all the professors acting like hippie kids, it was so awesome. Today I'm playing co-ed sawkker with my sister's grad team (they're called the Bio Bots. You are SO jealous) and tomorrow I'm watching approximately eight hours of sawkker on the teletube, AND ONE TREE HILL IS ON TONIGHT! AND I'M GETTING RAINBOOTS TOMORROW! I can't remember the last time I was so happy! Except for the fact that Ginger Spice may never have a head... *EDIT* I lied. Also. ATTENTION! I NEED ALL OF YOUR MAILING ADDRESSES! LIKE RIGHT NOW ASAP OKAY?!?

I May Freak Out A Little

ok so first of all i have now posted my schedule of daily activities, and this now is a list of all the shit i have to do in the next three months. if you take the time to read it one day when you are really bored, please notice that in five days in the middle of october, i have four midterms and a very large paper due, three of those things occuring on one day. and a swim meet on the weekend in between, ergo, a will lose at least one day of studying. for now, i choose to ignore the later part of this list, because basically i will freak out a lot and possibly hyperventilate a little, followed quite swiftly by a full-on anxiety attack, hospitalization included. my final exams are not included on this list. secondly. i have been invited to a wine and cheese on friday evening, to which i am supposed to wear some fancy clothes. classy. i'm a little worried about this, i'm not going to lie. i know i had a 'thirdly' but at the moment i really cannot recall. considering my internet has been down for three days, and that i have an assignment due tomorrow, i should really go and do that.

I am employed!!

So I really don't have too much to say at the moment, but I DID get a job! I talked to my coach about some issues I have, the main one being money for the team / Florida and how I'll need to get sponsored and stuff. So he offered me a job! I get to work with Matty P, who I really like and we get along well. We teach highschool kids swimming on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, as well as Saturday morning. And it's something like $12 an hour, so that's really really going to help me out!! I can't wait, I start Tuesday apparently! :) I hope everyone is having a good time doing whatever, this weekend is homecoming for us. Ridiculous. The keggers started two hours ago. Our team is definitely having a breakfast kegger tomorrow morning. I may die a little bit.

What do you call a Sailing Team dressed as pirates? St. Lawrence Rowing Club

So this is what we like to call sailing rookie night. We were all required to dress as pirates as well as don our life jackets and meet up to go to a final destination. Once we were all gathered, we were made to line up, a learn some sort of wacko danse, don't even know. Well anyways, then we were made to move on. The preferred method of transportation they chose for us was leapfrog, which pretty much didnt last long, because there were way too many people, and well, it was kinda too hard to do, especially in high boots. Then they decided we could 'sail' to our location, and when they blew the whistle once we had to tack, and twice we had to do a 360. They also made us figure 8 some trees, and then walk backwards and row, and occasionally chant St. Lawrence rowing! And sometimes also stop to play knights and cavaliers. Well. Thats just getting there. Then we were made to line up in front of the house, in which we were going, and to go in one at a time, and when we went in, we had our names written on our faces, and our adresses and who was taking us home on our arms. Oh, and then they duct taped 40s of beer to our hands. Well one to each person. yay. Then followed other activities/shots/food things, such as Darling I love you (I am terrible at this and someone eventually, just offered to take my place, so I could stop taking sips of drink), uh, tabasco and vodka shots, banana smoothie vodka shots, uh and burnt cookies stuck together with wasabi sauce. Now what I don't remember and don't know if I had or not were the raw egg and vodka shots, as well as wasabi vodka shots. There was one other thing. The bucket. What the bucket consisted of was weak purple koolaid, vodka, with the unfortunate additions (not supposed to be in there, but poured in there by some dumb kids) of a tabasco shot and some beer. Yeah gross. What I'm also lucky that I missed was the vaseline in the hair. I saw some people the next day who told me about this event, and had their hair covered in the stuff, as well as some unlucky ones who got kitty litter in there too. Well, like I said I missed that, but that may be because I also don't remember half of the night. Like when I left the party, or when people were walking me home. You know, things like that. What a rough night. I got home at...uuuuh...8:30 in ther morning, and I went to sleep, and slept until the afternoon, until I was no longer drunk. Yeah guys. Low. I kept on hearing things that happened that I didn't know about, and I'm still trying to find out what else happened. But I do know that I am not drinking for at least another week, but we'll see when it comes to homecoming...........

Room

Also, since Priss has been asking, here are some picturrrs of my room. Which I like.

Ok guys, here it is, Get ready for the biggun.

Ok, so lets get this started, shall we? I will now explain to you most of what happened during frosh week/ the first week of school. Superfun. First of all we moved in, some before others and everyone kinda went around to meet people, say hi and stuff. Cool. Pretty much most people now get along on our floor, except for four girls who are never around and one of whom has been nicknamed the witch by pretty much everyone on the floor. Anyways. So the first two days were res orientation, blah blah, dont even remember much of what we did, but it was good. The first day we went to the football game, whatevs they won, and that night me and my roomie (who is super nice and we get along really well) and another friend from our floor went to a kegger, and made sure we got our monies worth, and well....anyways other nights we went looking for parties but nothing going on, donc lame. They also had this hilarious play/skit for the first years called Existere, in which they kinda talk about all sorts of things that might happen in first year. Aka, singing to the tunes of Backstreetboys, larger than life, Britney Spears Toxic, and one about Walkhome to the tune of Madonna Like a Prayer. Yeah, ridiculous and awesome. There was also this amazing fair that they had randomly, with an inflatable obstacle course, and and inflatable like rock climbing volcano, and just generally radical stuff. Then later, went to swim tryouts, didn't like it so much, probably because of how out of shape I am, and I decided not to go back. Well, not just that, I missed the next day because of a frosh week fair, with a different inflatable obstacle course, and then the next two days I had sailing tryouts, and I made the team, and now its should be awesome. Also for frosh week, our group was the More Cow Bell. I hope you guys get the Will Farrel SNL reference, otherwise you should look it up. There was also an Artsci Frosh Dance, which you can look at here. Although it doesnt have all the different things we say during the dance, its still pretty awesome. But you can watch everyone do it here, the frosh are the ones in yellow, and we are good at it because we had to do it every time that song came on. And yes, that is a Michael Phelps reference too. So guys, that pretty much sums up my week. Classes are not too bad, yet. Actually I only have 16 hours of class a week, which I'm cool with, hopefully I'll get a credit for french. And then I may take Japanese, because it fits into my schedule nicely, aka in between other classes, so that the latest I finish is 2:30 pm, not including superpsych. Also last night I got to see my friend Alex from rangers. It was pretty cool, and we got to talk about what we've been up to since then. So yeah, lots of fun. I like it here. :)

1234: The Plain White T's > Feist

I really hope this works, 'cause it took awhile and I went against most of my morals by getting a YouTube account for this specific purpose.
  1. So I hope you all love it. Comment on this and I'll love YOU.
  2. In other news, go listen to Within You by Ray Lamontagne. Ignore my notoriously terrible taste in music, it's seriously be-e-a-utiful and I love it.
  3. I'm not going to talk about school because I promised myself that this year I wasn't going to whine, but it's kind of difficult to talk about it without whining.
  4. I really love hearing all your updates, though. So keep that up.

Recipe for the Best Morning Ever

1. Set your alarm to your favourite song that will not scare the shit out of you when it clicks on and the sound drifts down into your cerebellum. Dane Cook reference, yes. 2. Grab warm clothes and dress as quickly as possible since your room just may be the coldest in the house. 3. Get a ride to the AC because walking reeeealllly blows. 4. Jump in a freezing cold pool and splash around a little, make it look like you're working. Mr. Coulter reference, yes. 5. Get the shit out of there because you're so hungry your stomach may implode. 6. Get a ride back from the AC because walking reeeealllly blows. 7. Two eggs, two pieces of toast, a massive cup of tea and Bolthouse Farms Blue Goodness Berry Apple Banana Smoothie. Fuck yeah. 8. A very very very hot shower. 9. Back to bed! I am about to conclude my morning with numbers 8 and 9. Though a sarcastic post, this actually was the best morning ever. And I DID get a ride, by the way, it was awesome.

Oh.

Hey guys, dont be worrying ro partying just yet, because it happens that I am still alive and kicking. What a shame eh? Well, tomorrow I will (at least try) to write about epic frosh week, awesome parties, and how it barely seems that I ever go to class. Aka, tomorrow I start at 10:30 and finish at 12:30, so I have lots of time to do stuff. Anyways, until then ladies.

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

oh hey.

uhhhhh so. i cant figure out how to put my schedule on here so whatevs. basically i have 830 class MWF and it sucks. but not at much as pdubs' schedule. dude i dont think you could have made that worse if you tried. that sucks a whole lot. so im goin to waterloo this weekend cuz one of my roommates lives there and she has to go back for like an older relatives bday so we're all gonna hang out and then go out that night. but a certain someone currently living in waterloo sucks a whole lot and wont even be there. geeze. but yeah western life is not exciting at all. so far my most interesting class is classics, which is a greek and roman mythology class. its kinda awsome and the prof is really weird so i like her. daphne told me i should switch into classics since its clearly my true calling. which means basically that i dont have a calling because lets be serious, what are you going to do with a degree in classics. also, how much do you think my parents would hate me if i tried to change majors 3 times in 3 years? i would be in undergrad forever. and it would be hilarious. also i have one of the worst profs to ever exist for my french grammar class. like im seriously considering purchasing a firearm. its really bad and its only the second day of the class. im going to die. the worst part is that i dont even need to go to it because its all just grammar but hes apparently going to be taking attendance every class and its mandatory. although i dont think he took attendance today so we'll see how long that lasts. ugh. so anyway. yeah. wheres steph?

physics is ick!

Prissy I don't know how you do it.. seriously.. soo boring and this is only "baby" physics.. aka grade 11 and 12... blehh. So as you can tell I'm in class and really boreddd
155319

reallly realllly bored... you can even ask colin hehehe...
"The only reason we stay awake is that he yells in a funny accent every 3.46 seconds."
blah maybe i should go pretend to pay attention again.. love you guys <3 and someone better write in soon so I have something to respond to during my other boring classes!!!!

blehhhh.....

Ok so since no one has written this week, it totally means that I get to complain about my miserable cold!

The past two days of classes weren't really all that fun what with my not being able to breathe through my nose and the whole coughing etc.. not to mention almost falling asleep.. but noreen gave me some meds yesterday and I went out and bought some... (and somehow spent 50$ on dry erase pens, vicks, sinutab, some more vicks, and some more stomach meds.) So I have been feeling better except kinda drugged up =p It doesn't help that my room smells like weed ALL the time and last night it was so strong I probably could've been high, except I was on other meds for my cold anyways so I probly wouldn't have even noticed...

Anyways I just figured I would say hi and be kinda whiney because thats my usual =D  And other than my cold and my stupid classes I'm actually having alot of fun.. Oh and it turns out that colin is really good friends with a girl I went to rangers with.. he saw my sweater and was like "oh you were in sleeping giant...." and I was like yeah I worked there for a summer... and he was like "oh do you know nadia?" and I said yeah and he was like yeah I knew I had seen taht sweater before.. hehehe so random. and awesome. And I should go do some work since I'm already behind on some of my reading!!

p.s. If I am ever talking to anyone on MSN and I go offline it could be because our internet frequently stops working!

um ps

ps, that was beautifully laid out but apparently this thing doesn't allow spaces between paragraphs and days so someone needs to tell me how to put dooies on here. yes, dooies.

SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINGIN' IN THE RAAAAIIIIN!!!

it's raining this morning but i'm soooo happy anyway! don't ask me why but i'm in a very very very VERY good mood! i went swimming on wednesday for the first time in, oh, 5 months, and pretty much felt like a beached wale. i went again today, and felt much better! i don't know how to put fancy dooies on this, ie pictures and schedules, so i will just write my schedule for now! when i figure out how to post shit, i will, but i don't feel like it right now! and yo priss, your schedule is baallllllllllllz!!!! yeah with a zEE! i honestly have no idea why i'm so happy today, but i hope it rubs off! i start classes on monday and i need to enjoy these last few days of gloriousness! also i went out last night and it was kind of fun but i really don't like dancing. so yeah, here it is! (i don't know when i'll be swimming for sure so i won't put in on for now). Monday: 10.30 - 12.20: English and Literary Tradition I 12.30 - 1.20: English and Literary Tradition Tutorial 1.30 - 2.20: Children's Literature Tuesday: 10.00 - 11.20: Reading Culture 11.30 - 12.50: Intro to Cognitive Psychology 2.30 - 3.50: Developmental Psychology: Infancy and Childhood Wednesday: 1.30 - 2.20: Children's Literature Thursday: 10.00 - 11.20: Reading Culture 11.30 - 12.50: Intro to Cognitive Psychology 2.30 - 3.50: Developmental Psychology: Infancy and Childhood Friday: 1.30 - 2.20: Children's Literature so the wednesday friday deal is balls, but whatever i've heard that that class if fantastic, so hopefully that holds up. it's a decent schedule, i like having stuff back-to-back rather than huge breaks. i'll be swimming probably three afternoons, ie, monday, wednesday, friday, and then mornings tuesday wednesday thursday. but that's tentative and tends to change when i don't feel like going! :) anyhoo, that's enough from me! tahtah ladies!

Meehh.....

Well, I will post my schedule when I have it all figured out, which may be a while because I never have time to do it. Also I have concluded that if Prissy had ever come here for engineering frosh week, she would pretty much die, or become a recluse. Some reasons include: the engineer frosh, are made to sizzle like bacon and eggs on the ground, or mosh when commanded to do so, had their hair gelled up (using I dont know what, apparantly a warm liquid that they blow dry to stay in place for days) and then either partly shaved (for the guys) and have objects such as water bottles or styrofoam cups inserted in to their hair as 'props' (mostly for girls) and then they all have their hair spray painted lovely colours. Their group leaders are dyed purple thus not allowed to enter any buildings, and some carry heavy chains, while most like to smack their purple leather jackets on the ground to intimidate and scare others. As the comedian said last night, "They dont need birth control, because their attitude is birth control enough. Their cheer is "How lame are you Frosh?" to which the correct response from the engineering frosh would be "We are so lame!". They also have to hold each others hands while moving/crossing the street, so that they dont get lost. How cute. I will write about this interesting week after tomorrow, when all the activities are finished, and I can sleep and rest and get myself sorted before classes. Man thats so crazy.

Tick tock tick tock

This is what my life looks like for the next four months. Care to share, laydeez? (That's a rhetorical question. Post your schedules.)

INTERNETSSSSS

my internets were broken last night so i got my room ALL organized! and the kitchen! and i vaulted myself into my gloriously high and large bed! i love my life! there are pictures on facebook of my room, which is FAAAAANTASTIC! i'm very happy to start school and very happy to be here! we're about to grab lunch (sarah is moving in today, weaver (katy) tomorrow!!!) all the first years move in today so we're going to check that shit out too. laterz! oh and my internets are fixed. obviously.
