Titles are overrated (aka I couldnt think of one to write)

Sooooo, I haven't written in forever, so I'll try not to make this too long. Exams went much better than I anticipated, so I am happy and hopefully will never have to take chemistry ever again in my life. Second, Ottawa is awesome, I found a nice place in Sandy Hill, which is not too far from Parliament, and also not too far from bars and such (except when we are drunk and following people who clearly don't know the best ways to get around and then it takes forever!). Its also a really big room, which is nice, and there is a balcony on the house, where I like to sit and do my homework type reading and studying for my job. Job is going well, still one week of training, but it has been crazy so far. A) learning all the info, B)learning to build a tour with different aspects like themes, and different informations to include and stuff, and C) getting to know everyone and trying to remember the names of more than 40 people including our IOs (interpretation officers = supervisors). But everyone seems really nice, and some people came to my hosue last night to drink and then we went out, which was cool. My housemate that is here right now is incredibly nice and easy going and fun and likes to party and such and is also in army training. Crazy stuff. So everything is going well, hopefully I will get some money sometime, and not be such a poor student. :3 So yeah, thats my life. (I have also now realized that I am addicted to coffee, and have now decided to try to quit, or at least drink much less which is good, but at the same time, the headaches aren't so fun. Oh well. )

we are awsome, this is awsome, ie we should do it.

http://improveverywhere.com/ http://www.flashmobaustin.com/ ok. heres the plan. we all move back into one collective city (im up for anywhere around the world, i looked at places involved with improv everywhere but there arent very many in canada) and start one of these things or join an existing one. basically its hilarious and amazing all at the same time. i highly suggest you watch the videos to fully understand just why i want to do this so badly.

I spent $120 to learn that you can't add apples and oranges

A few absolute gems from my Fluid Mechanics textbook. The dedication, which did NOT enhance my love of learning about Fluid Mechanics OR about life: My personal fave: This is officially now what I aspire to; that one day I, too, will have a nondimensional parameter named after me.
P.S. It's true, I AM visiting Hucal on Tuesday! WHOO!

A HOUSE???

So Tom is buying a house...which he wasn't looking for. He drove by it and thought, 'Hey I should check that out!' Tour Sunday. Second tour Tuesday. Offer Wednesday. Could have it by tonight. He was planning on waiting a couple of years, but this place is in a neighborhood he's always loved, it's the perfect size, and it's basically ready to move into (very minimal, if any, repairs). Basically he needs to paint and that's it. It's priced at 237, he offered 225 Wednesday morning. Wednesday evening they countered with 232, and he again countered with 230. Basically he finds out tonight! Craziness. He also didn't expect them to get back to him until after Saturday because they had an open house scheduled. He's like, "Man I need to not be looking for a house everytime I buy! I'm not stressed at all!" -- Because he wasn't looking or anticipating buying a place, there is absolutely no pressure because it doesn't matter one way or the other. Anyway, I'll let you know! Here's the virtual tour: http://www.virtualproperties.ca/a3303 P.S. No. I'm not moving in with him. :P He says I should probably clarify that with my mother who is probably having panic attacks. I think it keeps her on her toes, so I'll wait awhile.

  • UPDATE: HE GOT IT!!!! It becomes official with the home inspection, which is tomorrow (April 14th). He'll sign on Thursday if all is well! :)

My bandwagon jumping skillz. Let me show you them.

EXAMINATION SCHEDULE W09*
  • Wednesday, April 8: Introduction to Environmental Engineering at 3:30 p.m.
  • Monday, April 13: Mechanics of Deformable Bodies II at 8:30 a.m.
  • Thursday, April 16: Earth Systems II: The Earth's Surface at 12:00 p.m.
  • Friday, April 17: Differential Equations at 8:30 a.m.
  • Saturday, April 18: Fluid Mechanics I Final at 12:00 p.m.
Reasons why this year's exam schedule is boss
  1. I don't have 6 exams in seven days! WHAT IS THAT ABOUT?!?
  2. I only have FIVE exams! WHO-O-A!
  3. During my five-day break, EMLEH is coming home and is joining in on our Leddy library study parties that are actually not parties at all because parties are fun and study parties are not.
In other news, I have a meeting with my department head on Monday to go over my summer schedule; I may not be allowed to take two of the three classes I'm currently registered for, even though I have all of the pre-requisites to take them, because taking courses out of sequence whether you are in co-op or not is not allowed. Laaaame. *Would you believe that it took us over a year and a half to figure out what the w09, f08, etc. on our school portals stand for? Would you also believe that they stand for Winter 2009, Fall 2008, etc. ?!?

oh yeah we have a blog.

hokay so my exams are as follows: kin -17th french - 19th french lit & linguistics - 22 myths - 24. and then we move on the 30 and i start my intersession classes on the 5th. so im taking 2 kin quarter credits in intersession and in kin we have to do all these activity classes and stuff. the 2 classes im signed up for are called games of low organization and badminton so i pretty much assume they are activity classes but im pretty sure theyre listed as in a regular classroom. so that should be interesting. on a somewhat side note, my bday is the day inbetween when the first course ends and the second begins (aka no class) so i vote lets visit me and party in londontown. that is all.

EXAMS!

Here is my gross schedule with a loverly 8 day break between geo and chem. ick. so basically I don’t know what I’m going to do for 8 days because I don’t think its humanly possible to study for that long especially when other people are going home in between… (I would literally go crazy).. but hopefully it means I can  drag my chemistry mark up from the crap it is now to something half decent.
